Toyota recalls 82,200 hybrid SUVs in U.S.

Toyota Motor Corp. stated today it'll recall 45,500 Highlander Hybrid and 36,700 Lexus RX 400h Sports utility vehicles within the U.S. because some transistors were improperly soldered.

The car maker will repair the problem in 85,000 models of these two models within the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam, stated Shiori Hashimoto, a Toyota speaker. Toyota will even recall 11,164 models of these two models in Japan and 15,000 in Europe, she stated.

Toyota this past year created a worldwide quality committee following record recalls for problems associated with unintentional acceleration in the Prius cars. It's also established new technology centers all over the world to collect info on suspected quality problems and also to speed recall choices.

The car maker is focusing on acquiring the required alternative parts and can inform proprietors in mid-This summer, the organization stated inside a statement today. The cars to become remembered were created between 2005 and 2006, based on Hashimoto.
