Summertime-requires a shake up to your typical beauty routine, with the warm temperatures and days spent lounging at the pool or the beach. A good summer beauty collection includes sun protection, products-to-make your skin bronzed and glowing, water- and sweat-proof picks that will stay put all day long, and just for fun one juicy new lip color and a colorful-eye shade.

Glowing skin
Protecting your delicate skin with an SPF is always a good idea even under the gray Seattle skies but with the sun finally-peeking out from behind the clouds around here, it’s mandatory. After you moisturize and before you put on your makeup, try Lancome’s Bienfait UV SPF 50 ($35 atNordstrom). With a smooth and light matte finish, it offers great sun protection and even--retains its SPF after 40 minutes in the water or perspiring.

For a foundation and moisturizer in one, Bobbi Brown makes one of the most popular options out there: Her Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 ($40 at Nordstrom) has sheer, natural coverage and skin-conditioning jojoba oil, so it goes on easy and leaves skin soft perfect for casual-summer look.

If you’re taking full advantage of the long, steamy summer nights, we recommend MAC’s Strobe Cream ($15 at MAC) to replenish your tired skin. Packed with-powerful botanicals, it freshens, and boosts the look of your skin. Plus, the vitamins, green tea and antioxidants-have a brightening, clarifying and moistening effect on skin. Kissable lips
Skin isn’t the only thing that can dry out in the summer sun -- your lips need a little love and care as well. Plus, you can choose one of the options with a-hint of color like a golden peach or a ripe berry.

For that juicy new lip color, coral is the shade of the summer. Laura Mercier’s Portofino Summer Collection Lip Glace in Nectar ($22 at Nordstrom) is perfect for its high-shine and hydrating formula. Plus, it's sheer enough to wear to the beach and still look breezy-and casual. 

Alluring eyes
First, make sure your eye shadow is going to stay put without smudging, creasing or caking in the heat. The Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base from Nars ($24 at Nordstrom) is a lightweight primer that dries on contact and will keep cream and powder shadows-looking bright and fresh all day.

Soft and smoky metallic eyes are a big summer beauty trend, so get on board with MAC’s Surf Baby Crushed Metallic Pigment in “Summer Stash” ($32.50 at Nordstrom). These limited-edition crushed metallic pigments come in soft feminine shades of-pink and violet, silver and pearly white, in an easy to use see-through stack.
